Let’s Make: Roasted Sesame Sauce. This is also called Tahini, but Let’s make the Asian version, cause I’m Asian….I think….is that how it works?
Screw paying $10 for a bottle of sesame Tahini that doesn’t even taste good or look appetizing. This sauce doesn’t require a lot of special ingredients. It’s also super simple, easy, and quick to make.
This sauce is so fragrant, nutty, rich and pretty. It’s best drizzled on noodles, buns, meats, and maybe desserts for that extra nuttiness and aroma. This is just like peanut butter, but it’s not. The sluttiest thing a man can do is to lube himself up with this sauce or sesame oil in general….;)
Although you can buy already toasted sesame seeds, buying untested sesame seeds and toasting them yourself will draw out more of the sesame aroma. This is because toasted sesame seeds begins to lose their flavor profile rather quickly. The toasting process is simple. Just pop it in a 350F oven for 1-2 minutes, but keep an eye on it as they can burn rather quickly.

Roasted Sesame Sauce
- Evenly spread the sesame seeds on a baking try and toast in a 350F oven for 1-2 minutes, or until they become a golden color. Keep on eye on them because they can burn rather quickly. Although already toasted sesame seeds can be bought, they won’t have the same fragrance as freshly toasted sesame seeds.
2. Blend together the Sesame Seeds, Sesame Oil, Garlic, Sugar, Salt, and Oil together. Add more oil to make the sauce more smooth and thin, Add less oil to make the sauce thicker and richer. Taste. You may need to add more salt depending on the personal desired taste.
