Din Tai Fung Cucumber Salad

Din Tai Fung's Famous Cucumber Salad Recipe but a little extra boost if wanted. Screw paying the 8 dollars for a measly plate of 1 cucumber when you can make a bunch at home just for $5

Ingredients
  

Ingredients:

  • 3 Persian Cucumbers
  • 1 Tsp Salt

Marinade Sauce Ingredients (add based on personal taste):

  • ½ Tsp Garlic (Grated & Optional)
  • ¼ Tsp Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Squeeze of Lemon (Optional)
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • ¼ Tsp Chili Oil
  • 1 Pinch Chili Flakes (Optional)
  • 1 Pinch Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Drop Sesame Oil (Optional, but not shown in video)

Instructions
 

Procedure:

  • Chop Cucumbers into rounds and mix in the salt to marinate for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Mix the marinade sauce ingredients together. Let it sit for at least an hour if you want it to be thicker
  • Rinse and squeeze the cucumbers to remove the excess salt and water. Add in marinade sauce and marinate. Marinate longer for better taste.

Notes

The optional ingredients are ingredients that I added to boost the flavor, but omit those for the classic Din Tai Fung Cucumber salad Recipe.
Don't let the sliced cucumbers sit in the salt for a very long time, or they will become inedible.
if you let the cucumbers marinate in the sauce for longer periods of time, it will become more flavorful.
Let the sauce sit longer if you want it to be thicker, as the grated garlic (if added) will absorb the mixture and become thicker.
